& Adeline Ward Oscar Thrower Ward February 29, 1920 - July 7, 2008. Oscar was born on the Ward farm weighing 2 1/2 lbs. He started his life in an apple box on the oven door and spent the intervening years dedicated to family, friends and farming the land he so loved! Dad got his wish and passed away peacefully at home on their farm. Adeline Gertrude Ward (nee Longworth) November 29, 1927 - July 13, 2008 Adeline was born at Biggar, SK. and was the last surviving member of the Francis Longworth family. After living with numerous family members, Mom came to the Cardross district, met Dad and they were married on October 11, 1945 and they had over 62 wonderful years together. Mom spent her married life dedicated to supporting her community, their farm and most of all family and friends. Oscar was predeceased by his parents Sarah and Sidney, step-father Charles McLeod, brother and sister-in-law Lloyd and Luella and brother-in-law Lyle Robinson. Adeline was predeceased by her parents Francis and Martha, brothers Bill (Bea) (Clem), Joe (Kate), Wilfred (Ciss), Bob and Johnny, sisters May (John) (Albert), Eva (Gill) (Rusty), Peggy (Donald), Kitty (Cecil), Bitty, Agnes and James. Oscar and Adeline are lovingly remembered by son Garth (Faith) children Guy (Leah), Warren ( Charlotte), Sean ( Maribel), Rebecca, daughter Dale (Gerry) Watamanuk, children Wade, Glenna andPetrina (Kent) Hamilton, daughter Pamela (Darell) Ebbett, children Jeremy (Nikki), Aaron (Dean) Ubell, Kendrick, son Courtney (Margaret), children Meagan, Amber; son Charles (Tammy), children Jaxson, Brock, Ashley; great-grandchildren Clayton, Donovan and Dylan Hamilton, Tyler and Lucas Adams, Kendall and Colton Ebbett and two more on the way. They are also survived by brother and sister-in-law Barclay and Gertrude Ward, sister Edna Robinson, sisters-in-law Grace Longworth and Mary Longworth, numerous nieces and nephews, as well as extended family members Robin (Dell) McLeod and Colin (Stella) McLeod. A combined funeral service will be held on Saturday, July 19, 2008 at 1 p.m. at Minto United Church, 1036 - 7th Ave. N.W., Moose Jaw. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Pioneers Lodge, 1000 Albert St., Moose Jaw, SK S6H 2Y2. Arrangements are entrusted to Piche-Hawkins Grondin Funeral Chapel, Assiniboia, SK. 306-642-5551. Green Alan Russell Green of Victoria, BC, passed away on July 8, 2008 at the age of 86 years, after a lengthy illness. Russell was born in Moose Jaw to parents Alan and Norma Green and raised in the Pasqua district on the family farm. He is survived by his brother Gordon of Moose Jaw; nephew Bill and his wife Paula of Caronport and their three children; his family of six children: Gloria, Michael, Ramona, Lisa, Mark and Andre, all of BC; seven grandchildren; nephews; nieces and friends. Service was held Monday, July 14 at McCall Brothers Funeral Chapel, Victoria, BC. Memorials in Russell's name to Victoria Island Prostate Cancer Research Foundation would be appreciated by the family. Irving Dennis Ross Irving passed away in Moose Jaw on Tuesday, July 15, 2008 at the age of 61, Pastor of St. Mark's in Moose Jaw and Knox in Briercrest. He is survived by his first love, the Lord, Jesus Christ, and secondly his wife and soul-mate Leanne, children Lynnai (husband Dallas, Dalen, Lyrrah), Jeff (partner Kristi), Darren (wife Renee) and Vivien Smith his mother-in-law. Known to most as Dennis the Menace, he was born in Swift Current, SK where he met and married Leanne. He was a loving man and treated all he met equally and with respect. He answered the Lord's calling to shepherd his sheep and worked as a lay pastor for last 15 years. He loved his family deeply and was passionate about his work. He will be greatly missed by his family and everyone who had the pleasure of knowing him, which is a great many people. A Visitation will be held at W.J. Jones & Son Funeral Home in Moose Jaw on Sunday, July 20, 2008 from 7 – 9 p.m. A Celebration of Dennis' life will be held on Monday, July 21, 2008 at 10:00 am, at First Presbyterian Church, 2170 Albert St. in Regina. Donations are graciously accepted by St. Mark's Presbyterian Church, 80 High St. E., Moose Jaw, SK, S6H 0B8 in memory of Dennis. She is survived by her companion, Roy Sullivan; her sons, Jeff (JoAnne) Ohm – Langley, BC, Mark – Saskatoon; five grandchildren and great-grandchildren; brother Jack (Louise) Thomson – Strathmore, AB, and sister Larose (Ross) Graham – Green Valley, ON. A Service of Remembrance will be held at W.J.Jones & Son Chapel on Saturday July 19, 2008 at 1:30 pm. Reverend David Moore will officiate. Memorialization will take place at Rosedale Cemetery. Dana Smith Funeral Director Hugh Robert Ross June 29, 1914 – July 16, 2008 Hugh passed away peacefully at his home, Good Shepherd Villa in Prince Albert at the age of 94. Hugh was born in Swift Current and met his wife Mary there. They then moved to Moose Jaw to set up home. He joined the navy in 1943 and was stationed on the East Coast where he conducted anti submarine warfare and mine sweeping operations. He was proud of his efforts in the defense of Canada. Hugh is survived by his sons Bob (Judy), and Tom (Tana); granddaughters Susan Stockamp (Bob), Kris Howson (Robert), Brittany (Derek) and great-grandchildren Jennifer, Robert, Moorea and Jade as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife Mary and daughter Lynne, as well as four brothers and a sister. The Funeral Service will be held at W.J. Jones & Son Chapel on Monday July 22, 2008 at 2:00 pm. Reverend John Carley will officiate. Interment will follow at Rosedale Cemetery. Royal Canadian Legion Funeral Rites will be conducted at the Chapel by Roscoe Steele. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the Canadian Cancer Society, 61B Ross St.W., Moose Jaw, S6H 2M2, would be appreciated. In living memory of Hugh, a tree will be planted in Besant Park by W. J.
