MARGARET PEARL BAILEY
BAILEY, MARGARET PEARL Margaret Pearl Bailey of Newcastle Centre, NB passed away peacefully at home on September 22, 2006. Born in Newcastle Centre, NB on September 14, 1918, she was the daughter of the late Carl and Mary Sypher. Margaret was a devoted supporter of the Newcastle Creek United Baptist Church having been a member for 69 years. Her favorite pastimes were quilting, knitting and crafts. She made over 200 quilts with each family member receiving one on special occasions. Many others were given to the IWK Hospital and those in need while many are as far away as New Zealand, California and places in between. She operated a craft booth at the Queens Co. fair for 25 years. Margaret was a member of the LOBA Lodge for 53 years and an Honorary member of the Rt. Worshipful Grand Lodge of NB. Margaret was proud of her family and took great joy in visits from the grandchildren. Her knowledge of family and community history was exceptional. Survived by husband, Hazen; sons, Carl (Alvena) and Eric (Aroon); daughter, Mary (Delbert) Keith, all of Newcastle Centre, NB; grandchildren, Patricia, Christopher, Mary-Faith, Bruce, Sarah, Ian and Travis; 10 great grandchildren; sister, Minnie Small (Donald); sister-in-law, Martha Sypher; foster brother, Henry Yates (Shelly); foster sister, Dorothy Legassie(Vaughan); special nieces Lucinda and Iris; several other nieces; one nephew; and aunt, Agnes McGee. Predeceased by parents; brother, Ernest Sypher; and son-in-law, Delore Richard. Visitation was held September 24, 2006 at the Minto Funeral Home. The Funeral Service will be held at the Newcastle Creek United Baptist Church on September 25, 2006 at 2pm. Internment will be in the Newcastle Creek United Baptist Cemetery Extension.
