Jack Bert York Jack's family is sorry to announce his unexpected passing on Thursday, August 21, 2008 at Regina General Hospital. Jack was born on July 6, 1927 in Moose Jaw where he resided his entire life. Predeceased by his wife, Hazel (1992), his parents, Bert and Ethel, and brother Bill, and infant sister Lois. Jack is survived by his son, Ritchie, daughters Cheryl & Grant Jordison, Debbie Stewart, Janet & Jamie White, and Susan and Glen Heck; as well as his grandchildren, Sharri (Jay) Leslie, Amie (Cody) Edwards, Jaime Smith, Courtney Stewart, Joel, Cale, and Luke Jordison, Katie (Shaun) Bassett, John, Jenny and Jill White, and Matt and Quinn Heck; great-grandchildren, Madi and Taiha Jordison, Abbey Edwards, Zach and Adam Leslie; his brother Jim, and sister Betty, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Jack will be dearly missed by his family and special companion of 15 years, Jean Mintenko and her family, as well as Jack's extended family, Smitty and Stu. Jack worked in the family business, York Auto Supply, and eventually went into partnership with his son, Ritchie until his passing. Jack was seen on a daily basis walking the paths of Wakamow or playing golf with the team of "Grumpy Old Men" and enjoyed attending Warrior games with Murray in the winter, and spending his summer at the cottage. In keeping with Dad's wishes, there will be a special "Sunday 3 pm Tea" at his home at 178 Hall St.W., on Sunday, August 24, 2008. All his friends and friends of the family are invited to attend. In lieu of flowers, Jack would appreciate a donation to the Moose Jaw Health Foundation, or to Wakamow Valley on his behalf.
