GERALD RUEBEN MOSER
MOSER, GERALD RUEBEN It is with a great sadness that the family announces the passing of beloved husband, father and grandfather. Gerald was the eldest son of the late Rueben and Kathleen (Smith) Moser. Born in the namesake community of Moser River, NS on November 22, 1933. After a courageous and lengthy battle against diabetes and kidney disease Gerald died peacefully on March 8, 2007 surrounded by his family at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Gerald will be remembered to all that knew and loved him as a man of great strength and integrity. He impressed all who knew and loved him by his devoted love of his family and friends. Retired after a lengthy career in the construction industry as President of Rainsford Contracting. His legacy will live on as the man who loved the outdoors, lakes, rivers, streams, and woods of New Brunswick where his favorite places to spend his time. Avid fisherman and hunter Gerald enjoyed life to the fullest. He is survived by his loving wife and best friend of 54 years Arlene (Stockley) of Harvey Station. Sons Richard, Lesley (MacMillan), Roger, Gail (Paterson), Steven, Marg (Milburn) and daughter Janet, Pierre Beaule. Grandchildren Derek, David, Sean, Lyndsey, James, Melissa, Adam, Abigail Moser. Daniel and Elizabeth Bungay. Brothers William (Bill) and Elsie, Dorchester Ontario, Melvin and Shirley Winnepeg Manitoba, Donald and Angie of Truro Nova Scotia. Several nieces and nephews. Sister in law Grace Ward of Harvey Station, Frances, Jimmy, Sharon, Anne Ward and families. And to all of those who have said to us over the years, He (Gerald) was like a father to me. Bishops Funeral Home, 540 Woodstock Road, Fredericton, are in charge of the families arrangements. They are as follows; visitation Monday March 12, 2007 2-4 and 7-9. Memorial service Tuesday March 13th at 2:00 PM at St. Peters Anglican Church. Canon Tom Smith officiating. Reception to follow. Gerald loved flowers, however it is the wish of the family that in lieu of, a donation be made to the Fredericton Branch of the Kidney Foundation. Honorary pallbearers; Robert Matthews, Aldon Duncan, Willard Griffin, Lorrie Yerxa, Jack Scott, David Bradley, James Ward and Malcolm MacKinnon. The family would like to express our heart felt thanks to Janet Walker and staff of the hemo-dialysis unit in Fredericton who made him feel loved and treated him with respect for the past several years. The doctors, nurses and staff who attended to him this past week with such professionalism, compassion and adept skill at the Saint John Regional Hospital. To all of the above Thank You for knowing how much it meant to our father but to our mother as well. His friends of which there were many. A testament to Gerald will be carried on for he will be long remembered and loved.
