JOHN ADDY GALEY

GALEY, JOHN ADDY John Addy Galey - 46, passed away on July 2, 2007, in Halifax. Born in Chatham, New Brunswick on July 2, 1961, he was the beloved youngest son of Elizabeth Galey of Fredericton, and the late Rev. Canon Leonard Galey. John received his Arts degree, with Honours, from the University of King's College in Halifax. He was a supervisor of parking facilities for many years with the QEII Health Sciences Center. He was an avid reader, sportsman, movie buff and coin collector, with a keen interest in all things historical. Those who knew John well knew him to be a chocolate connoisseur and a stocking stuffer "extraordinaire". John is survived by his mother; sisters Miriam Galey (Rick Thibault) of Dartmouth, Sheila Galey of Dartmouth, Elaine (Ian) MacInnis of Dartmouth and Kathryn (Roger) Collet of Upper Kingsclear, N.B; brothers Robert (Laurie) Harper of Springfield, OR, David (Kathy) Galey of Sussex, N.B. and Michael (Sheila) Galey of Gagetown, N.B.; aunts and uncles Tom and Jean Crowther of Rothesay, N.B., David and Jeanette Braman of Hoyt, N.B. Lois Galey of Sussex, N.B., Hazel Braman of North Sydney, N.S., Sally Braman of Burlington, ON. He was a loving uncle to Stephanie, Curtis, Gordon, Amanda, Elise, Mathieu, Daniel, Sarah and Ashley. He was predeceased by his grandparents and his father, brother-in-law, Bruce Pinsent. A special thank you to Catherine, Peter and Thomas McAuley, Dr. N. Pinsky, Dr. W. Hasegawa and all the staff of the Medical Day Unit and 8A of the QEII VG site. Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be from 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm on Thursday, July 5th, at A.L. Mattatall Funeral Home, 217 Portland St. in Dartmouth. Service will be held Saturday, July 7th, 11:00 a.m. at the Church of the Good Shepherd, 668 Manawagonish Rd, Saint John, N.B. Burial will follow in the Good Shepherd Cemetery. A reception will follow in the church hall. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Crohn's and Colitis Foundation of Canada, Lymphoma Foundation Canada or to the Leonard Galey Divinity Scholarship Fund, Trinity Anglican Church, Sussex, N.B. E4E 2M9. From the bookmark in the book John was reading; "What Cancer Cannot Take from You: It cannot take away your faith, shatter your hope, or lessen your love.
