Becklund, Leona Margaret "Pat" at the age of 94 of Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 20, 2009. Pat was born March 29, 1914 on the family farm at Congress. She married Lawrence Becklund in Assiniboia, SK. on November 9, 1940. In 1953 they moved to Moose Jaw and raised their family of five. Mom held her family very close to her heart and was very proud of all their accomplishments. Her greatest joy was being surrounded by all her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Pat was the last surviving member of the Hillmer family of Congress, SK. and was predeceased by her husband Lawrence in 1996. Mom will be lovingly remembered by her children Glenn (Bev) Becklund of Calgary, Alberta, Myrna (Fred) Toles of Kelowna, BC. Judy (Mike) Parr of Moose Jaw, Nona (Jack) Forsyth of Moose Jaw, and Sheila Hauk of Saskatoon; eleven grandchildren, Jason Becklund (Sandra), Kellie (Mike) Whalen, Heather Toles (Dan), Traci (Dave) Austen, Jody (Rick) Oakes, Jeff (Arla) Parr, Kimberly Forsyth (Chad), Scott Forsyth (Amanda), Jennifer (Ross) Samuels, Mark Hauk, Mathew Hauk and nine great grandchildren. The funeral service will be held Friday January 23, 2009 at 1:00 p.m. at Parkview Funeral Chapel, Moose Jaw, Reverend Doug Shepherd will officiate. Interment will follow at Sunset Cemetery.
