
FRED WARD
WARD, FRED Frederick (Fred) Arthur Ward, 83, of Petitcodiac passed away Thursday, January 15, 2009 at the Moncton Hospital with his family at his side. Born in Moncton, he was a son of the late Thomas and Georgia (Bannister) Ward. Fred was a Veteran of World War 11 having served throughout Continental Europe with the third division of the North Shore Regiment. He retired as manager of store # 39 NBLCC, Petitcodiac, was a member of Saint John's United Church, Moncton and attended Saint James Untied Church in Petitcodiac. He was a member of Branch 41 Royal Canadian Legion, a member of the North Shore Regiment, veteran's association, a member of the former War Vet's association in Moncton and a former member of the Steven Masonic Lodge, Petitcodiac. Survived by his beloved wife of 60 years, Pauline (Polly) (Dunham); children Tom (Linda), Tim (Claudette), Dorothy Quillian (Jim) all of Moncton, Jim (Retta) of Petitcodiac, Bill (Heather) of Riverview; grandchildren Craig, Tommy, Tammy Young, Jason, Jeremy, Rhonda, Rachel, Ryan, Timmy, Justin and step-grandson Jamie Westaffe. Survived also by five great grandchildren, a brother Bill Ward (Dawn) of Fredericton and by several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by a sister Greta and her husband Duncan Williston. Resting at the Salisbury Funeral Home, 3350 Salisbury Road (372-4800) with visiting Saturday 2 to 4 pm only. The Funeral will be held from the Funeral Home Chapel on Sunday, January 18th at 2 pm with Rev. Bob Campbell officiating with a tribute to a Veteran service immediately following. Interment will be at Elmwood Cemetery, Moncton at a later date. If desired, memorials to the Lung Association or Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated by the family. www.keirsteads.ca
