LEONARD AUGUSTINE MACLELLAN

MACLELLAN, LEONARD AUGUSTINE Leonard A. MacLellan of Central Waterville, York County, NB passed away February 17th, 2009 at Upper River Valley Hospital. Leonard was born at Sydney, NS in 1920, a son of the late John L. and Catherine (MacDonald) MacLellan. He was Veteran of the Second World War and a member of the Lower Southampton Branch of the Royal Canadian Legion. Leonard and his wife lived in Ontario for several years where he was employed with the fire department and security of the Ford Motor Company. He was an avid golfer and loved his dogs. Leonard is survived by his wife, Noreen E. W. (Thornton) MacLellan; a sister, Monica Power, Stewiacke, NS; several sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Leonard was predeceased by a sister, Mary Woodworth and four brothers, Daniel, James, John and Angus (Butch) MacLellan. Visiting hours will be held at Flewelling Funeral Home, 585 Otis Drive, Nackawic on Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. A Royal Canadian Legion tribute service will be held Thursday evening at 7 pm. The funeral service will be held from the funeral home chapel on Friday, February 20th, 2009 at 2 pm with Rev. Ivan Perry and Rev. Terry Brewer officiating. Interment will be later at Waterville Cemetery. Honorary pallbearers will be Elmo Stairs, Ralph LeBlanc, Harry Brooks, Eugene Stairs and Victor Hape. Active pallbearers will be Mike Thornton, Cordell Thornton, Daniel Christie, Joel Christie, Roger Christie and Raymond Thornton.
