JONES, FREDERICK ALTON "FRED" The passing of Frederick Alton "Fred" Jones, husband to Carolyn Jones of Fredericton, occurred on August 9, 2009 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital. Born on August 7, 1939, Fred was a son of the late Frederick and Helen (Cook) Jones. Fred spent six years in the Canadian Armed Forces and 30 years as a member of the Fredericton Police Force. In addition to his wife, Fred is survived by his son, Shawn (Michelle) of Fredericton, NB; daughter, Susan of Fredericton, NB; grandchildren, Curtis, Stephen and Phoebe, all of Fredericton, NB; brothers, Ernest (Helen), Dwayne (Linda), Vernon, Larry, all of Fredericton, NB, Blair (Dawn), of Keswick, NB, Jack of Greenwood, NS; sisters, Nancy Rafuse of Edmonton, AB, Vicky Kelly (Tim), Wonita Jones (Plemon), Wilma Butler (Barry), all of Fredericton; sister-in-law, Audrey Jones of Upper Hainesville, NB; several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, Fred was predeceased by his brothers, Harry and Sheldon. Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive, Fredericton on Wednesday, August 12, 2009 from 1 to 4 pm. Interment will take place in the Upper Hainesville Cemetery at a later date.
