PATTERSON, EDNA GERTRUDE The passing of Edna Gertrude Patterson of Fredericton, NB, wife of the late Charles "Patty" Patterson, occurred on Thursday, October 08, 2009 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital. Born on January 21, 1918 in French Lake, NB, she was the daughter of the late William J. and Gertrude (Cogswell) Wood. Edna was a member of the Greenwood Drive Baptist Church, the Half Century Club in Barker's Point and the Royal Canadian Legion. Edna is survived by her daughters, Gertrude Stairs, Paulette (Roger) Vipond both of Calgary, AB and Cheryl Vezina of Fredericton, NB; son, Harry (Polly) of Fredericton, NB; 16 grandchildren; several great grandchildren and great great grandchildren; son-in-law, John Strong of Fredericton, NB; sister-in-law, Inez Wood of Fredericton, NB; special friends, Noella and Karen and several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents and husband, Edna was predeceased by her daughter, Gwen Strong; son, Wayne; grandson, Clay Vezina; great grandson, Michael Davidson; sisters, Roxie, Thelma, Eunice, Alice, Vivian and Gladys and brothers, John (Bertram) and Basil Wood. Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive on Saturday, October 10, 2009 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. A Funeral Service will take place at York Funeral Home's T. Gordon MacLeod Memorial Chapel on Sunday, October 11, 2009 at 2 pm with Rev. Jeff Benson officiating. Interment will take place in Fredericton Rural Extension Cemetery.
