88, Sydney The loving family of Laura Blanche MacPherson, 88, of Sydney, wish to announce her passing on Monday, May 5, 2008, at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney. Born in Codroy, Nfld., she was a daughter of the late John Robert and Annie (Grant) Kendall. Blanche was an adherent of Bethel Presbyterian Church, Sydney. Surviving are her daughters, Thelma MacKillop, Evelyn (Fred) Peters, Joan Morrison and Heather (Ben) Furey, all of Sydney; sons, Sandy (Iris), Ottawa, and Robert (Margaret), Elmsdale; sister, Mildred Marlay, Kingston, Ont.; 23 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Blanche was predeceased by her husband, Hector, son, Donald, daughter, Shirley Bonaparte, sisters, Ada, Margaret, Lillian, Ethel and Emma, brothers, Fred, George, Frank, Arch and Wallace, granddaughter, Darlene MacKillop, grandson, Norman MacPherson. Visitation will take place at Sydney Memorial Chapel today (Tuesday), 7-9 p.m. and Wednesday, 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. A funeral service will be held at Bethel Presbyterian Church, Thursday, 2 p.m. with Rev. Robert Lyle officiating. Interment in Hardwood Hill Cemetery.
