LYONS, BLAIR WILFRED LLOYD The passing of Blair Wilfred Lloyd Lyons of Fredericton, NB, husband of Jean (Stafford) Lyons, occurred on February 14, 2010 at his home. Born on November 4, 1924 in Doaktown, NB, he was the son of the late Freeman and Christina (Arbeau) Lyons. He was a retired custodian at St. Thomas University after 16 years and worked for 18 years at the Marysville Cotton Mill. Blair was a member of Cross Point Wesleyan Church. He was a member of the Senior Bowling League in Marysville and Loved to fish salmon. In addition to his wife of 59 years, Blair is survived by his four daughters, Brenda Lyons (Jerry) of Fredericton, NB, Rhona Hoyt (Leland) of Springfield, NB, Bonnie Bragdon Lyons (Dale) of Fredericton, NB Cheryl Storey of Fredericton, NB, ; son, Winston Lyons (Nancy) of Durham Bridge, NB; nine grandchildren and seven great grandsons; one sisters, Lena Chapman (Bud) of Ludlow, NB; four brothers Millet Lyons (Evelyn) of Fredericton, NB, Mannie Lyons (Barbara) of Fredericton, NB, Marvin Lyons (Evie) of Doaktown, NB and Paul Lyons (Wanda) of Ludlow, NB; sister in law Joan Lyons; several nieces and nephews; faithful companion Shadow. Besides his parents, Blair was predeceased by three sisters Isabel Cleveland, Gracie Lyons and Marion Lyons; two brothers Harold and Eldon Lyons. Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home 302 Brookside Drive on Tuesday, February 16, 2010 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. Funeral Service will take place at the Cross Point Wesleyan Church on Wednesday, February 17, 2010 at 2 pm with Pastor Conard Symonds officiating. Interment will take place in the Marysville Baptist Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers, remembrances made to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Cross Point Wesleyan Church Building Fund would be appreciated by the family.
