HUGHES, IAN DOUGLAS - Ian Douglas Hughes, 71, husband of Sharon (Calvin) Hughes, of Grand Bay-Westfield, NB, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his wife and daughter at the Queen Elizabeth II Hospital in Halifax, on Wednesday, December 26, 2001. He was the son of the late James and Elizabeth (Harrington) Hughes. Ian was a long time employee of Sears Canada, where he made many good friends. Ian is survived by his wife, his only daughter, Dr. Stacey Hughes, son-in-law, Jeff DeWolfe , two beautiful grandchildren, Cal and Peyton, all of Bridgewater, NS, brothers, Frank (Lorraine) of Saint John, and James of Michigan, brothers-in-law, Laurence Calvin (Loraine) and Ross Calvin (Leona) of Saint John, several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his sisters, Irene Garnett and Margaret Hughes. Ian was a wonderful husband, father, and grandfather. Resting at Brenan's Bay View Select Community Funeral Home, 1461 Manawagonish Road, Saint John, NB (506) 634-7425, with visitation on Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. Funeral service will be held on Saturday, December 29, 2001 at 1:30 PM from Bay View Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will take place at Cedar Hill Extension Cemetery.
