Mary Elizabeth Johnston

Died peacefully, surrounded by her family, Friday, May 9, 2008, in Toronto. Mary was born in Sydney, C.B., July 10, 1948. She grew up on the island before moving to Toronto. She will be greatly missed by her husband and world travel companion, Phil Harbord. She was the proud mother of Nicole MacLeod and Chris Harbord, and devoted ‘nana’ to her grandson, Elijah Allen. Mary was predeceased by her mother, Margaret Johnston, her father, John (Zeno) Johnston, and her brother, Johnny. She will be lovingly remembered by her brothers, Carl and Cyril Johnston, and all of her family and friends. A visitation will be held at Sherrin Funeral Home, 873 Kingston Rd., Toronto, 416-698-2861, Wednesday, May 14 between 6-8 p.m. A memorial service will take place Thursday, May 15, starting at 10:30 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations to Princess Margaret Hospital would be appreciated (http://www.pmhf.ca/Pages/Donate/InHonourAndMemory.aspx).
