90, North Sydney It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our dear sister and aunt, Evelyn Beaton, age 89, on Thursday, July 3, 2008, in Taigh Solas Nursing Home at the Northside General Hospital. Born in North Sydney, she was a daughter of the late Patrick and Elizabeth (MacNeil) Prenty. Evelyn was a longtime resident of Mapleview Drive, living a quiet life with her husband, Angus. She was a woman of great faith and a devoted member of Our Lady Of Sorrows Church, North Sydney. She is survived by her brother, Ernest Prenty, North Sydney; and also by several nieces and nephews. Evelyn was predeceased by her husband, Angus, a brother, Patrick Prenty, three sisters, Marie and Ada Prenty and Kathleen Rowan, Boston. Visitation for Evelyn will be held 7- 9 p.m., Sunday, July 6, 2008, in the W.J. Dooley Funeral Home, 107 Pleasant St., North Sydney. Funeral mass will be celebrated 10 a.m., Monday, July 7, 2008, at St. Joseph Church, North Sydney, with Rev. Jim Attwood officiating. Burial to follow in Holy Cross Cemetery, North Sydney.
