CLINTON JOSEPH WEIR

WEIR, CLINTON JOSEPH - 1928-2003 -, 74, of Riverside-Albert passed away on February 8, 2003 at the Moncton City Hospital after a brief illness. He was born in Riverside-Albert on September 7, 1928 the son of the late Joseph and Elizabeth (McAnulty) Weir. He worked with CNR until his retirement. Clinton was a very ?active member of the Fundy Curling Club being the president for several years. He was a member of the Maples Canteen Coffee Club, a member of the Shepody Fish & Game Association. He?had been a volunteer Fireman with the Riverside-Albert Volunteer Fire?Department, he has also served as a councilor?for the Village of Riverside-Albert.?He was an avid outdoorsman who loved hunting and fishing.??Clinton?was a special man known for his ?laid back attitude?always?with a smile and his favorite saying was "Oh that will be allright". ?He was a loving father, grandfather and great grandfather. He thought the world of his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He will be deeply missed by his two daughters, Betty Elliott(Kevin) of Oshawa, Ontario, Beulah Tingley (Ivan) of Midway; two sons Leslie Weir (Donna) of Quispamsis, Richard "Dick" Weir (Doris) of Riverside-Albert; eight grandchildren Kimberley, Tracy, Beverley, Juli, Colin, Carla, Penny, Jennifer and nine greatgrandchildren;?five sisters, Dessie McAnulty of Ottawa, Elinor Snelgrove (Chesley) of Germantown, Marie Rossiter (Gordon) of Moncton, Margaret Elliott (Dale) of Riverside-Albert, Donna Hayward (Allan) of Saint John; five brothers, Carney Weir of Moncton, Howard Weir (Joan) of Shepody, Karl Weir of Oshawa, Douglas Weir (Linda) of Oshawa, Darrell Weir (Kathy) of Riverside-Albert; brother-in-law Eldon Butland of Riverview; several nieces and nephews.?Clinton will also be dearly missed by his special friend and companion Jean Justason of Riverside-Albert. Besides his parents Clinton was predeceased by his wife, Mary (Lyman) Weir ;a brother Garry ; a sister Juanita ; grandson Scott. The remains will be resting at the Albert County Funeral Home with visitation on Tuesday from 2-4pm and 7-9pm. The funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday, February, 12, 2003 at 2pm?with Rev.Val Chongva Officiating. Internment will be in the Fair Haven Memorial Gardens, Moncton.?Following the funeral service the family will be meeting with relatives and friends at the Fundy Curling Club, Riverside-Albert?for further sharing of memories and refreshments.?Knowing how Clinton participated in and how he felt about the?Curling Club donations in his memory to the Fundy Curling Club New Roof Fund or to the charity of your choice would be greatly appreciated by the family.?Arrangements are in the care of the Albert County Funeral Home, Hopewell Cape,734-2780. www.albertcountyfh.com
