ROBERT MILLER HUTTON

HUTTON, ROBERT MILLER - It is with sorrow that we announce the passing of Bob Hutton of Saint John West husband of Suzanne G. (Miller) Hutton after a courageous battle with cancer. Born on October 17, 1918, he was the son of the late Robert S. and Janet (Miller) Hutton. He attended Beaconsfield School and graduated from Saint John High School and Saint John Vocational School. He was employed by the Saint John Dry Dock in the Structural Steel Division from 1937 to 1958, with a leave of absence for the Second World War where he served with the Pictou Highlanders. He joined the staff of Mott, Myles and Chatwin in 1959 from where he retired in 1984. He is Past Master of Carleton Union Lodge #8, Past President and Honorary member of Carleton Curling Club, and Past President of the New Brunswick Curling Association. For his contributions to curling he was inducted into the Governor General's Curling Club in Ottawa. He is survived by his wife of 58 years Suzanne G. (Miller) Hutton, his children Sandra Morton (Allen) of Grand Bay - Westfield, Robert Hutton (Anna Marie), Ronald Hutton (Barbara) all of Saint John West, his grandchildren Heather Stephen (Jason), Tara Morton, Janet Morton, Robert Hutton, Ronald Hutton, Austin Hutton, Brenda Hutton, his only great granddaughter Taytum Hutton, his brother William Hutton (Eleanor), his sister-in-law Audrey Hutton and many nieces and nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by one brother George Hutton. Resting at the Castle"Fallsview" Funeral Home 309 Lancaster Ave. (634-1701). Funeral service will be held at St. Judes Anglican Church Lancaster St. Saint John West on Wednesday March 26, 2003 at 2 PM. Interment in Greenwood Cemetery. Visiting at "Fallsview" on Monday from 7-9 PM and Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. Donations to the Canadian Cancer Society, St. Judes Building Fund or to the charity of the donors choice would be appreciated by the family. A Masonic service will be held at the funeral home on Monday at 7 PM. Following the interment a reception will take place at the Carleton Curling Club.
