DOROTHY T. GIGGIE

GIGGIE, DOROTHY T. - Peacefully at her residence in Blacks Harbour, NB on April 1, 2003, Mrs. Dorothy T. Giggie, wife of the late Philip E. Giggie of 40 Deadman's Harbour Road, Blacks Harbour. Born in St. George, NB on September 17, 1914, she was a daughter of the late Alexander and Marguerite (Leonard) Maxwell. A loving mother and grandmother, Dorothy is survived by three daughters, Eleanor, Mrs. A. John Van de Sande of Quispamsis, Donna Giggie of Blacks Harbour, and Janet, Mrs. Dale MacElwain of Woodstock, NB; seven grandchildren, Patricia, Suzanne, Barbara, Joanne, David, Peter and Rachel; six great-grandchildren, Meagan, Maxwell, John, Elizabeth, Thomas and Spencer; one sister, Frances Allen; several nieces, nephews and cousins. Pre-deceased by five sisters, Edith Maxwell, Flora Henderson, Grace Simpson, Lt. Col. Pauline Maxwell and Ethel Thomas. Prior to her retirement, Dorothy worked as switchboard operator for Connors Bros. Ltd. for over 30 years. Resting at the St. George Funeral Home (755-3533), 26 Portage Street, St. George, NB with visiting on Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. The service will be held at The Gary E. Waycott Memorial Chapel on Thursday at 11 am with Rev. Fred Snyder officiating. Interment in Pennfield Rural Cemetery in the spring. In Dorothy's memory, donations to a charity of the donor's choice would be appreciated by the family. www.stgeorgefh.ca
