JEANETTE H. BENSON

BENSON, JEANETTE H. - Unexpectedly at her residence on Saturday April 12, 2003 Jeanette Hazel (Keirstead) Benson of Horsler Dr., Saint John West, wife of Cameron Benson. Born in Canterbury, N.B., she was the daughter of the late Judge Reginald and Hazel (Sharp) Keirstead. "Grammie Benson" will long be remembered as a caring, devoted grandmother to her six grandchildren, Amber, Kyle, Lauren, Brooke, Shayla and Maxwell, all Bensons. Her unconditional Christian love and supportive acceptance was a mainstay for the entire family, throughout her life she kept the family close and never let any family member leave her home without a big hug and a sincere "We Love You." She very recently enjoyed a trip to Hamilton, Ont. to see Maxwell, her latest grandchild for the first time, on her trip home the other five grandchildren converged in Moncton entirely by chance, and she was ecstatic to have seen all six of her grandchildren on the same day. Jeanette was employed with the law firm of Stewart McKelvey Stirling Scales as a legal secretary for a number of years and more recently with Barry & O'Neil. She was a member of Hillcrest United Baptist Church and was the church financial secretary for a number of years and was a member of the Women's Missionary Society and the Wednesday Morning Bible Study. She was a volunteer with Suicide Prevention and the Canadian Mental Health and also with the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation. Surviving in addition to her husband, Cameron, are two sons Duane and his wife Wanda of Grand Bay-Westfield, Shaun and his wife Shelly of Moncton, one daughter Michelle and her partner Kathy of Hamilton, Ont., two brothers David Keirstead and his wife Noreen of Norton, George Keirstead of Saint John and one sister Elizabeth Angevine and her husband David of Saint John and Harvey and Thelma Benson. Resting at the Castle "Fallsview" Funeral Home, 309 Lancaster Ave. (634-1701). Funeral service will be held at the Hillcrest United Baptist Church Lancaster Ave. on Wednesday April 16, 2003 at 2 PM. Interment in Cedar Hill Extension Cemetery. Visiting at "Fallsview" on Monday April 14, 2003 from 7-9 PM and Tuesday April 15, 2003 from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. Donations to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation or to Hillcrest United Baptist Church would be appreciated by the family. Following the interment a reception will take place at Hillcrest United Baptist Church.
