CUSHING, JOHN RICHMOND "JACK" - It is with great sadness that we announce the death of John Richmond "Jack" Cushing of Fredericton, NB. He passed away at the Saint John Regional Hospital, August 9, 2003. Born in Grand Falls, NB August 25, 1935 he was the son of the late Richmond Hershey and Zita (McCluskey) Cushing. He was a graduate of Civil Engineering at UNB and was employed with NB Power for 33 years. Jack enjoyed getting together with old friends, playing cards, hunting at the camp, telling jokes and woodworking at the seniors workshop. Jack will be sadly missed by his wife Jeannine (Leveille); two daughters Linda MacLeod (Berry) of P.E.I and Catherine Cushing of Halifax, NS; one son John Cushing (Tracy) of Halifax, NS; two grandchildren Kaden and Austin MacLeod; two brothers Peter Cushing (Betty) of Malta and William Cushing (Suzanne) of Ontario; one sister Sandra Halcrow (Kevin) of Saint John, NB and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by one brother David Cushing. Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Dr. Fredericton NB on Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9pm. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated from St. Theresa's Roman Catholic Church on Wednesday at 1pm with Father John Jennings officiating. Interment will follow at St. Anthony' s Roman Catholic Cemetery. Pallbearers for the service will be Jos Doiron, Jack Maynard, Ed Haggerty, Ross Gillies, Fritz Schatz, and Paul Green. Honorary pallbearers will be George Young, Charlie Turner, Vern Smith, Al Wark, Bev Calhoun, Grant Watson, and Tom Gorman.
