Earl B. Pettigrew Southampton and Tidnish - It is with saddened hearts we announce the passing of Earl Basil Pettigrew of Southampton, Cumberland County on Monday, March 5, 2007 at the Cumberland Regional Health Care Centre, Upper Nappan at the age of 83. Born in Southampton, he was the son of the late Harry and Clara (Lepper) Pettigrew. He is survived by his loving and cherished partner, Gertrude Hollis, Tidnish and her children Trudy, Leon and families; his daughters, Ruth Anne Boss, Moose Jaw, Sask.; Holly Trewin (Geoff), Surrey, BC; sons, David (Bev), Invermere, BC; Allan, Sackville, NB; Randy (Teri), Parrsboro; a sister, Helen Winters, Oxford; brothers, Laurie (Ruth), Vermillion, Alta.; Harry (Myrtle), Vernon, BC; Aubrey (Shirley), Dartmouth; many loving grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews; as well as the many "chosen children" who loved him as "Dad." He was predeceased by his wife, the former Edna Brown. Because of his generous heart and delightful wit, he will be sadly missed by all. Visitation 2-4 p.m. Friday at Smith's Funeral Home, Parrsboro, where a Knight's of Pythias service will be held at 3 p.m. Funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Saturday in the Southampton United Church, Rev. Allan Griffin officiating. A reception will follow funeral service at the Southampton Community Center. Spring burial in the Southampton Cemetery.
