KEATING, EDNA (BYERS) - On Sunday, August 21, 2005, Edna (Byers) Keating, loving wife of the late Frank Keating, passed away peacefully at the St. John & St. Stephen Nursing Home. Daughter of the late William and Myrtle Byers, she leaves behind four sons: Andrew (Marg), John (Thelma), Allan (Jean), Ronald (Janice) all of Saint John; and four daughters: Doris (Clarence) Green and Gloria (Jim) Collings, both of Grand Bay-Westfield; and Bernice (Ronald) Conley and Lorraine (William Taylor), both of Saint John. She was predeceased by two sons, Donald and Robert, as well as by four brothers and one sister. Edna also leaves behind 13 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren, and six great-great grandchildren. During her active years, Edna was quite involved with The Church of the Good Shepherd and was also active in the South Bay Opals Seniors Club and the Hillcrest Seniors Complex. Resting at Castle Funeral Home Fallsview Chapel, 309 Lancaster Ave., (634-1701) with visitation Tuesday from 7-9 p.m. and Wednesday from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. A Funeral service will be held at The Church of the Good Shepherd, 668 Manawagonish Road, Saint John, on Thursday, August 25, 2005 at 11 o'clock. Interment Cedar Hill Extension Cemetery with reception following at the Fallsview Reception Centre, 293 Lancaster Avenue, Saint John. In memory of Edna, donations may be made to a charity of donor's choice.
