THOMAS P. MURRAY

MURRAY, THOMAS P. - Thomas P. Murray of Lower Woodstock, NB passed away February 25, 2006 at the Central Carleton Nursing Home, Hartland, NB. Born in 1936, he was a son of the late Donald and Alma (Blackmore) Murray. Tom served with the United States Army in the 1960's. Throughout his life he held several jobs. He was employed with CPR, drove school bus and worked as a mechanic. As a small business owner he operated the Panorama Trailer Park and Thomas Murray Sales and Service Ltd. He was a member of Council 2234, Knights of Columbus. He was an avid horse lover, snowmobile enthusiast and his happiest days were spent at his cottage at Grand Lake. Tom is survived by his wife, Shirley (Riordon) Murray; a daughter, Leanne Murray, Fredericton and a son, Brian Murray, Florenceville; three brothers, Owen Murray (Jean), Woodstock, Donald Murray (Sylvia), Houlton, ME and Martin Murray (Elaine), Debec; a sister, Margaret (Betty) McAuley (Garth), Woodstock; a sister-in-law, Rhonda Murray, Woodstock and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by two brothers, Leo Murray and Joseph Murray, and an infant sister, Mary Murray. Resting at the home of his parents-in-law, 4 Hodgdon Road, Lower Woodstock with visiting hours Tuesday and Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Mass of the Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Gertrude's Catholic Church, Woodstock, NB on Thursday, March 2, 2006 at 11 a.m. by Father Bill Brennan. Interment will be later at Calvary Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Jim Anderson, Roland Ritchie, Dalton Stairs, Conrad Dixon, Jim Tompkins and Ronald Rees. For those who wish to make a donation in memory of Tom, the family has suggested the Carleton County Animal Shelter or the Activity Department of Central Carleton Nursing Home.
