MARY HELEN (KELLY) MULLIN

MULLIN, MARY HELEN (KELLY) - Mrs. Mary Helen (Kelly) Mullin, age 89, of Trout Brook, NB, passed away peacefully in her sleep with her family at her side on Dec. 15 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital, born in Williamston in 1917, she was the daughter of Annie (McMahon) and Jerome Kelly. She is survived by her two sons and five daughters, Patricia (Fred) Tozer, Moncton, Marilyn, Wabush, Labrador, Benedict (Helen), Trout Brook, Theresa, Saint John, Bernadette, Moncton, Aloysius (Leanne), Trout Brook, Colleen, Fredericton. She will be missed by her nine grandchildren, Jonathan and Charles Tozer; Gregory Connell and Lisa Payne; Jerry Roger and Kirk Mullin; Kyle and Morgan Mullin. Her great grandchildren, Matthew and Jeremy Payne, Emily Tozer and Nigel Mullin will also miss their great-grandmother. Many loving neices and nephews, sister-in-law Dorothy. Mary's family and her husband Lawrence were the most important things to her. As long as she had her family and Lawrence with her, she was happy. In addition her faith in the Catholic Church was beyond reproach. She served many roles in the Catholic Women's League and fulfilled any and all requests that might be made of her from St. James Parish. She has now gone to join Lawrence and her Lord. In addition to raising a large family, Mary had a long devoted career as a Registered Nurse, graduating from Hotel Dieu, Chatham, in 1938. She then worked at both the Hotel Dieu and the Miramichi Hospital, Newcastle until her retirement in 1979, she was a member of the Retired Nurse's Association. She also frequently, provided much needed medical assistance to many in the local communities who needed her. Her husband Lawrence and one daughter Cecilia predeceased her. She was also predeceased by her four brothers, Ambrose, Percy, Emeric and Johnny Kelly, and one sister Gertrude (Kelly) Donahue. She was the last surviving member of the immediate family. Loving and devoted caregivers Juanita Bone, Anne Todd and Betty Flanagan will miss Mary very much. Resting at Davidson's Funeral Home (506-622-7464). In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the St. James Cemetery, Belfast Children's Vacation Project, in Saint John or to a charity of donor's choice.
