
AUDREY RUTH KNIGHT
KNIGHT, AUDREY RUTH - The passing of Audrey Ruth Knight, wife of Kenneth I. Knight, of Lower Queensbury, NB, and formerly of Saint John, NB, occurred on May 25, 2007 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital, Fredericton, NB. Born on May 19, 1942 in Souris, Manitoba, she was a daughter of the late Joseph H. and Pearl C. M.(Othen) Redmond. Audrey enjoyed reading, gardening, sewing, crafts, music, and camping. Afraid of nothing, Audrey helped during the construction of her new home, and contributed by insulating her home's walls and creating ornamental cedar shingles for its exterior. In an effort to promote awareness and understanding of Hepatitis C, after her husband Ken was victimized by the disease, Audrey designed a website and was active as a moderator in an online support group for others with the disease. She also designed Hopsy the Hep C Bunny and Hopsy's message of support was sent around the world to promote awareness of Hepatitis C. Audrey was a past member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Jervis Bay Branch # 53, Saint John. Along with her husband, she is survived by one son, Kenneth J. Knight (Laura) of Lower Queensbury; two daughters, Helen R. Floyd (Michael) of Saint John, Heather A. Knight (Troy Jenkins) Halifax; two grandchildren, Mallory and Hunter Floyd; three sisters, Sheila Frances Reid of Plaster Rock, Lois Freda Ravn (Karl), of Midland, Kay Arlene Garnett (Paul) of Quispamsis, NB; several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by one sister, Bethel Redmond. Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home's, T. Gordon MacLeod Memorial Chapel, 302 Brookside Drive, Fredericton, NB on Tuesday, 2 to 4 pm. A Funeral Service will be held from York Funeral Home's T. Gordon MacLeod Memorial Chapel on Tuesday, May 29, 2007 at 4 pm. If desired, in lieu of flowers donations to the Lung Association or New Brunswick Heart and Stroke Foundation or to a charity of the donor's choice would be appreciated by the family.
