HAUPTSTEIN, JOHANNA E. - Johanna E. Hauptstein, born June 16, 1922, Tubingen, Germany Peacefully with her family, in her home of 44 years in Gondola Point, at 10:35 a.m. on July 11, 2007. She leaves behind, her two daughters, (Karin and Heidi), three grand daughters (Jennifer, Hayley and Raeanne), and one grandson (Eric), her sister in law, and nieces and nephews in Ontario, and family in her motherland Germany, as well as many friends of all ages. She joins her beloved son Lotar (Hoppie), her mother and father, two sisters and three brothers, and many friends. Johanna was an inspiration to those who knew her, for despite the many hardships she endured throughout her life, she was never known to say an unkind word, always remaining positive, sweet and supportive and loving, right up until her last moments. Our Mother and Oma was a craftsperson who enjoyed making homemade EVERYTHING, including, pottery, crocheting, weaving, knitting, (special thanks for those Christmas socks and beautiful sweaters!!) German cooking, gardening, herbal concoctions, and even dog "bonies" for her loving furry friends. We, her family, ask that anyone who is fortunate enough to have known our sweet Mother and "Oma", please take a moment to remember how kind, generous, loving and non-judgmental she was to all. She will be dearly missed, and in her honour we will strive every day,to let her Spirit and Love shine through and inspire us, until one day we meet again. To pay your respects, embrace her qualities and make them your own. Let those around you know with your words and actions how special they are to you. We take comfort in knowing, that we now have a very special Angel to watch over us.
