
PAUL BURNS MURRAY
MURRAY, PAUL BURNS - Passed away in Halifax, Nova Scotia on July 9, 2007, at the age of 80. Paul Murray was born March 21, 1927, in Saint John, N.B. He was the son of the late Isaac Burns and S. Audrey G. (Mullin) Murray. Survived by his wife Helen Murray, daughter Suzanne E. of Halifax and son David P. of Indianapolis. Paul Murray was an organist, choral director, radio personality, and music educator who began his studies in Saint John, graduated from Mt. Allison University, studied at the Royal College of Music in London, England, and worked in Saint John, Toronto, Halifax, and Fredericton. His Halifax Chamber Choir was nationally recognized, and he received many national and regional awards. He was also President of the Canadian Music Educators Assoc. from 1976-1979. Funeral Arrangements: A memorial service was held at St. James' Anglican Church in Halifax on July 14.
