THORNE, HILDA - Hilda Dorothy,Thorne 93, Dartmouth, former resident of Saint John for 90 years, passed away following a brief illness, on December 11, 2007 in the Dartmouth General Hospital, surrounded by her loving family. Born in Saint John, eldest daughter of the late James and Ethel (Linton) McKillop, she was predeceased by her husband Anslie George in 1985. She is survived by her children, Eileen (Bill) Buzan, Calgary; Barbara Lamb, Dartmouth; Catherine (Jim)Crocket, Ancaster, ON; Bob (Shirlee), Innisfail, AB; George (Debbie), Thompson, MB; her sisters, Marion Stewart, Saint John; Bernice (John) Warner, Brampton, ON and sister-in-law, Dot McKillop, Saint John. Hilda was predeceased by brother, Gordon and sister Audrey Hetherington. Hilda (Mom) is also survived by step-children, Ken (Ruby) BC; Russell (Eunice) AB; Gladys and Dawn NB, predeceased by step-children Marie, Peg and Edward. Hilda loved her family dearly and cherished each and every grandchild, great grandchild, and her many nieces and nephews who added so much interest and pleasure to her life. She had been an active member of Main St Baptist Church in Saint John, hospital volunteer and retiree of General Accident Insurance. Hilda loved life. Her adventures and travels to many family gatherings across Canada over the years has left a lifetime of wonderful memories for all. As a loving and supportive sister, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend, she will be dearly missed. A special thank you to Dr. John W. MacDonald for his care and kindness. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service and reception will be held at Lakecrest Estates, 31 Russell Lake Dr, Dartmouth, Saturday, Dec 15th at 2:30pm. Interment will take place at Fernhill Cemetery in Saint John, NB on Monday Dec 17th at 11am, weather permitting. No flowers, as requested by her. Donations in Hilda's memory may be made to charities of choice.
