MacKENZIE, LAURA M. - The death of Laura May MacKenzie occurred on March 11th, 2008 at the Kiwanis Nursing Home, at the age of 94. Born in Urney, NB, a daughter of the late Samuel and Lucy (Snider) Shannon. Laura was the wife of the late Herman Douglas MacKenzie who passed away in 1982. She is survived by her children, Merle (Jean) MacKenzie of Picadilly, Donna Bustin of Penobsquis, Betty (Erich) Lauterbach of London, ON and Lloyd (Janet) MacKenzie of Amherst, NS; 14 grandchildren; 33 great grandchildren; sister, Freda (Victor) Morrow of Mississauga, ON; sister-in-law, Mildred Shannon of Rockville and several nieces and nephews. Laura was predeceased by her parents; husband; sister, Austella Robinson; brothers, Russell and Robert Shannon; brother-in-law, Willard Robinson; son-in-law, Dale Bustin and great granddaughter, Cleo Grace Bustin. The family will receive visitors at the Sussex Select Community Funeral Home, 21 Aiton Road Sussex (506-433-2133) on Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9PM. The funeral service will be held on Thursday March 13th, 2008 at 2:00PM in the funeral home chapel with Reverend Eugene Fisher officiating. Interment will be at Pioneer Cemetery at a later date.
