SUTHERLAND, VERNA JOYCE - The death of Verna Joyce Sutherland, age 77 , companion of Arnold Suter of Norton, NB, occurred at the Sussex Health Centre, on Friday, March 28, 2008. She was the daughter of the late Minor and Laura (Chissolm) Spencer. She is survived by her companion; daughters, Marsha Davenport of Saint John and Patty Sutherland-Nash of Saint John; sons, Kenny and Cindy Sutherland of McAdam, David and Sharon Sutherland of Saint John, and Wade Suter and Patricia McEwen of Norton, and Doug and Michelle Garnett; five grandchildren; three great grandchildren; brothers, Willard, Norman and Roderick Spencer; sister, Pearl Rushton; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her grandson, Christopher Beau; brother, Arnold; and sister, Bernice. The family will receive visitors at Sherwood's Funeral Home and Life Tribute Centre (839-2156), 18 Scovil Road, Norton, NB, from 6 to 8 p.m. on Saturday, March 29th and from 3 to 8 p.m on Sunday. Funeral service will be held from Sherwood's Chapel at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, March 31, 2008. Interment will be in Southfield United Church Cemetery, NB, in the spring.
