CORNFIELD, GEORGE ALEXANDER - The death of Mr. George A. Cornfield, husband of the late M. Dorothy (Clark) Cornfield, occurred on June 5, 2009 at the Kennebec Manor. Born in Saint John on May 8, 1916, he was the son of the late Henry E. and Jessie L. (Gates) Cornfield. Mr. Cornfield had worked in the parts department of D & J Motors and Brett Chevrolet for 45 years and was a member of RCL Branch #69. He is survived by his children; Susan (Henry) Briggs, Sandra (Bryan) MacDonald, Terry (France), Douglas (Margo), Raymond, Donald, Phillip, brothers John, Vernon, Murray, a sister Jessie Byers, as well as 12 grandchildren, and several great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents and wife Dorothy, he was predeceased by his daughter Barbie, four brothers and a sister. According to family wishes, there will be no visiting. Funeral arrangements entrusted to Castle Funeral Home, "Fallsview Chapel", 309 Lancaster Ave., (634-1701). A private family service will take place on Monday at 10 am from Fallsview Chapel. Interment to follow in Cedar Hill Extension Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations in memory of Mr. Cornfield to the Key Industries, would be appreciated by his family.
