We the family of the late Buddy Capstick are saddened to announce his passing at Buchanan Memorial Health Center, Neil’s Harbour, on Thursday, Feb. 12, 2009, after a lengthy illness.
Born in Capstick, Victoria County, he was the son of the late W. J. Duncan and Margaret M. (MacDonald) Capstick. He was a member of St. Margaret’s parish. Buddy served with the Canadian Army in the Second World War. He worked as an inshore fisherman.
He is survived by his two grandsons, John L. and Bernard ‘Bud’ Burton; sister, Bertha Kanarie; brother Ernest (Marie) Capstick and many nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, Buddy was predeceased by a son, John; brothers, Ronald, Dan R. and Angus.
Visitation for Buddy Capstick will be held in St. Margaret’s Parish Center, St. Margaret’s Village, on Sunday, Feb. 15, 2009, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. The funeral mass celebrating his life will take place on Monday at 11 a.m. in St. Margaret’s Church, with Fr. Dan MacDonald officiating. The burial will take place in the spring.
Donations in Buddy’s memory may be made to St. Margaret’s Church.
