Longtime resident of Sydney Mines, Greta Fraser passed away peacefully at the Northside Community Guest Home on Saturday, Feb. 14, 2009.
She was a beloved daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother and a friend.
Born on March 2, 1920, she was the daughter of the late D.W. (Bill) and Margaret (MacKenzie) MacDonald.
Greta was a member of Carman United Church, Sydney Mines.
She is survived by her daughter, Margaret (Peggy) Moffat (Ian); and her two grandsons, Stuart and Tavis.
Greta was the last surviving member of her family; she was predeceased by her brothers, Fraser and Ralph, and also by her husbands, Rod MacArthur and Thomas R. Fraser.
At Greta’s request there will be no visitation or funeral service. A graveside service will be held in the spring.
Funeral arrangements are under the care and direction of J.M. Jobes Funeral Home, 635 Main St., Sydney Mines.
Donations may be made to a charity of ones choice in Greta’s memory.
