Trueman, Donald Carlyle – Hilden, passed away on Monday, Feb. 16, 2009, at home. Born in 1931, he was the son of the late Henry and Stella (Freeman) Trueman. Donald’s early years were spent on the family farm in Truemanville. During the war he was a spotter for the Air Craft Detection Core. He graduated from the Forest Ranger School in Fredericton in 1955 and spent his working years in Forest Inventory with the then Department of Lands and Forests in Truro, becoming supervisor, and retiring in 1986. He is survived by his wife Marilyn (MacCallum); sister Shirley (Roderick) Beherrell, Ontario; nieces Barbara, Nancy and Lisa; nephew Jeffery; mother-in-law Edythe MacCallum, Truro. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, Feb. 18th from 7 - 9 pm with funeral service on Thursday, Feb. 19th at 2 pm, both in Colchester Community Funeral Home, 512 Willow Street, Truro, Dr. Brian Ross officiating. Interment at a later date in the Bible Hill Cemetery. Family flowers only. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or to a charity of choice.
