Raymond LeBlanc

Raymond LeBlanc 1929 - 2003 SHEDIAC, NB - Raymond LeBlanc, 73, of Calder St., Shediac, passed away on Monday, January 6, 2003 at the Dr. Georges-L. Dumont Hospital, Moncton after a brief illness. Born in Gardner, Mass., March 24, 1929, he was the son of the late Thomas and Elizabeth (Roy) LeBlanc. Past Mayor of Shediac, 1994 - 2000, he was a former South-East Economic Commissioner for 11 years. He worked in the development of small and medium size enterprises as well as in the administration of Reynolds Aluminium Co., QC, a teacher at the primary, secondary and collegial level. Devoted to the community, he was past president of the Vestiaire St-Joseph, parish council, Richelieu Club, forum of Francophone Mayors and the Shediac Winter Carnival. He was a former board member of the Beauséjour Hospital Corporation, Caisse Populaire de Shédiac, Shediac Lobster Festival, Centreville Downtown Shediac and also took part in various local and parish committees. He is survived by his wife Génora (Robichaud) LeBlanc; daughter Sonia LeBlanc-Guimond (Donald) of Dieppe; son David (Linda) of Indianapolis; two grandsons, Christian and Patrick; two sisters, Alice Richard (Arthur), Haute Aboujagane, Marie-Mai Blaquière (Hector) of Trois-Rivières, QC.; nine brothers, Ronald (Gisèle), Archille (Jeannine), Arsène (Shirley), Rhéal (Zelma) and Fernand (Gilberte) all of Haute-Aboujagane, Normand (Flora) of Moncton, Lionel of Saint-André-LeBlanc, Armand (Lyse) of Baie Comeau, Henri of Shediac; one adopted brother, Roger Ouellette (Angela) of HauteAboujagane and several nieces and nephews. Resting at Frenette Funeral Home Ltd., 396 Main St., Shediac (532-3297) with visiting hours on Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m., Wednesday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. and Thursday from 10 a.m. until time of departure at 10:50 a.m. The funeral Mass will be held at 11a.m. on Thursday, January 9, 2003 at St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church, Shediac. Interment in the parish cemetery. At the request of the family, memorial donations to the Oncology Centre of the Dr. Georges-L. Dumont Hospital Foundation (862-4285), St-Joseph Cemetery Fund or Vestiaire St-Joseph would be appreciated.
