MacDonald "Mac" Matthews CARAQUET, NB - At the Caraquet Hospital, in Caraquet, NB, Mr. MacDonald "Mac" Matthews, age 81, from Shippagan, NB, husband of Carmel Vautour, passed away on March 6, 2003. Born September 24, 1921, he was the son of the late Georges Matthews and the late Grace McDonald. He is survived by his daughter, Joan (Jean-Paul Robichaud) from Shediac; one sister, Marguerite (Tyler Daily) from Chatham; one aunt, Alberta (late Douglas Blakeley) from Chatham; one cousin, Stanley (Jean) McKenzie from Texas; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Albert Vautour (Aline) from Tracadie-Sheila, Jean (late Norbert Noël) from Shippagan, May (late Edgar Veniot) from Bathurst, Douglas Vautour (Doreen) from Kingston, PEI, Raymond Vautour (Beverly) from Hamilton, Ont., Yvonne (Léo Vienneau) from Shippagan, Murielle (late Robert "Bobby" Vautour) from Shippagan; three grandchildren, Donald, Guy and Marc; also many nephew and nieces. Predeceased by one brother at a young age, Georges Jr.; one brother-in-law, Robert "Bobby" Vautour. He had worked for 40 years for W.S. Loggies and before he retired he worked at the Shippagan Enterprise. No visitation will be held. A memorial service will be held in the Spring.
