Rupert John Simmons
Rupert John Simmons 1913 - 2003 Rupert John Simmons, of Moncton, passed away at The Moncton Hospital on Wednesday, April 23, 2003 at the age of 90 years. Born in Harrisville, NB on February 17, 1913 he was the son of the late James and Lily (Reade) Simmons. He retired in 1978 after several years with the Canadian National Railway. He was an adherant to the Harrisville United Church. He is survived by his wife, Marjorie (Wilson) Stiles Simmons; daughters, Georgina (Melvin) Goodland of Dorchester and Dolores (Jim) Ftichar of Salisbury; sons, Ellis (Karen) Simmons of Moncton, Kevin (Brenda) Simmons of Belfast, PE; step sons, Harvey (Sheila) Stiles of New Glasgow, NS, and Allison (Sheila) Stiles of Moncton; sisters, Reta Steeves of Riverview, and Hilda Kendrick of Moncton; seven grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Besides his parents he was predeceased by his first wife, Pearl Cochrane in 1974; sisters, Daisy, Pearle, Bertha, Florence, and Minnie, also by brothers, Percy and Weldon. Resting at Tuttle Bros. Funeral Home 171 Lutz Street with visitation on Friday, April 25, 2003 from 2:00 to 4:00pm & 7:00 to 9:00pm.The Funeral Service will be held at Tuttle Bros. Memorial Chapel on Saturday, April 26, 2003 at 2:00pm with Rev. Brett Anningson officiating. Interment will be in Lakeside Cemetery.
