Mitchell (Mitch) Kowalski NEWCASTLE CREEK, NB - The death of Mitchell (Mitch) Kowalski of Newcastle Creek, NB occurred Monday, August 11, 2003 at the Queen's North Health Complex, Minto. Born in Lens, France, he was the son of the late Anthony and Zofia (Fillipieck) Kowalski. Mitch was a retired school teacher, teaching both at high school and the community college at schools in Dalhousie and Moncton. He had served from North Atlantic to the South Pacific during WW2 and was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch No. 12, Minto. Surviving are three sons, Donnie Kowalski (Angela) of Newcastle Creek, Paul Kowalski (Sheila) of Lakeville Corner and Gary Kowalski (Sandra) of Noonan; two daughters, Linda Savoie (Sylvio) of Toronto and Nancy Dorcas (Dana) of Newcastle Creek; son-in-law, Mason Douglas of Hardwood Ridge; four granddaughters; four grandsons; and one great grandson. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his wife Annie (Pollock) Kowalski in 2000; a daughter Judith Anne Douglas in 1996; and a brother Henry. Resting at Minto Funeral Home (327-3490) with visitation on Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. Funeral service will be held at 2 pm, Thursday, August 14, 2003 at St. Michael and All Angels Anglican Church, Minto with Rev. John Cathcart officiating. Interment will take place in the church cemetery. For those who wish, donations made to the charity of ones choice would be appreciated by the family.
