John R. MacAleese

John R. MacAleese 1926 - 2004 John "Jack" R. MacAleese, 77, of Moncton, passed away at The Moncton Hospital on Monday, January 12, 2004. Born in Moncton, NB on April 15, 1926 he was the son of the late Charles and Bernice (Mitton) MacAleese. He was a silk screen printer and was employed with the Times & Transcript and Colpitts. He was also co-owner of WayJack Sales. Jack was very community oriented and he was a dedicated supporter of Lionism. He was involved with many city activities including the Santa Claus Parade, Rail Road Days, Maritime Rides held at the Moncton Coliseum and the Jazz Festival. He was the key person in Car Draw fund raising for the past 16 years. He was also Past president of the East End Conservative Party and a former Campaign Manager for Charles Van Horne. Jack will also be remembered for his involvement with Stage Plays Productions with Stage Door 56. He is survived by daughters, Wendy and Judith Ann; sons, John Charles and Jaye all of Bridgewater, NS; and by his former wife, Joyce of Bridgetown, NS; sisters, Wilemina Breau and her husband Roger and Cora Procepo, both of Malden, MA; brothers, Roderick and his wife Janet, Donnie and his wife Frances, both of Moncton, and Stewart and his wife, Karen of Cornwall, ON; four grandchidren and several nieces and nephews. Visitation is at Tuttle Bros. Funeral Home, Lutz St. Moncton on Thursday, January 15, 2004 from 7:00 to 9:00pm. The Funeral Service will be held at Tuttle Brothers Memorial Chapel on Friday, January 16, 2004 at 2:00 pm with Rev. Douglas MacEachern officiating. Interment will be in Elmwood Cemetery in the spring. Donations in John's memory made to The NB Heart and Stroke Foundation or to the memorial of the donor's choice would be appreciated.
