It is with deep regret that we, the family announce the passing of Greg Fraser, which occurred on Tuesday, Feb. 24, 2009, from a brief illness.
Born in Meat Cove, he was the son of the late Angus and Ronnie (MacLellan) Fraser.
Greg was employed with several companies in Hamilton, Ont., until his moving home to Cape Breton to retire.
He enjoyed spending time outdoors, fishing, snowmobiling and tinkering around the house. He had a great love for animals.
Greg is survived by his former wife, Evelyn Hill; their children, Cathy Fraser, Gregory John Fraser, both of Hamilton; and three grandchildren. He is also survived by his sisters, Joy Fraser (David Williams), Mulgrave, Sharon (Cyril) Fraser, Bay St. Lawrence, Donna (Wild Allan) Bonnar, Meat Cove, Chandra Lee, Boston; his brothers, Johnny (Ann Marie), Hamilton, George (Donna), Brian, both of South Bar, as well as several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews and his beloved companion, Rex.
As per Greg’s request there will be no visitation. A private family service will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
