Roy Hunter Reid 1925 - 2005 FORT LAWRENCE, NS - Roy Hunter Reid, 79, of Fort Lawrence, NS, passed away on April 27, 2005 at his residence after a sudden illness. He was born in Hopewell Cape, Albert County, NB, on October 22, 1925, the son of the late Elmo and Lavinia (Mahar) Reid. Roy owned and operated Reid's Diner in Port Elgin for several years before his retirement. He enjoyed playing cards and crib, and was involved in the senior card circuit in Amherst. He was an avid Hockey fan, and especially loved to watch his grandchildren's games. Above all things he was a loving family man. He was a beloved husband, father and grandfather. He had a very big heart and will be fondly remembered by all who knew him. He will live on in the hearts of his loved ones forever. He will be deeply missed by his devoted children, Joanne Reid (Wayne) of Woodstock and David Reid (Chantal) of Moncton; his three precious grandchildren, Jeremy, Hayley and Kirby; two sisters, Eleanor Wasson of Minto, Laura Dixon of Niagra Falls, Ont; and by his brother, Harold Reid of Whitby, Ont. He will also be sadly missed by several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his beloved wife, Tillie (Perry) Reid; granddaughter, Madison; three sisters, Frances Murphy, Leone Hawkes, Thelma LeRosa; six brothers, LeBaron, Charles, Percy, Walter, William and Andrew. He will be resting at the Albert County Funeral Home with visitation on Thursday evening from 7 to 9pm. The Funeral Service will be held at the Albert County Funeral Home on Friday, April 29, 2005 at 2pm with Pastor Leonard Geldart officiating. Following the service the family will be meeting with relatives and friends for further sharing of memories and refreshments at the funeral home. Interment will be in the River View Cemetery, Hopewell Cape, NB. Donations to the charity of the donor's choice would be appreciated by the family.
