Passed peacefully away at the Carbonear General Hospital on Thursday, January 24, 2008, George H. Slade of Western Bay, age 89 years. Predeceased by son George William, daughter Donna, brothers Fred and Tobias, sisters Naomi Budgell and Annie Taylor. Leaving to mourn wife Winnifred "Winnie"; one daughter Judy (William) Blundon, Chapel Arm; three sons Fred (Ada), Dennis (Brenda) and Kevin (Diane), all of Carbonear; seven grandchildren: Deanne, Terry, Cynthia, David, Jeffrey, Jennifer and Nicole; one great-granddaughter Brianna; daughter-in-law Sandra Slade, Western Bay; one brother Jethro (Joan), Western Bay; one sister Ruby (Ron) Legge, Twillingate; also a large number of other relatives and friends. Resting at NOEL'S FUNERAL HOME, MAIN HIGHWAY, WESTERN BAY until 12:00 noon Sunday, January 27. Funeral service at 2:00 p.m. from McDowell United Church, Western Bay. Interment in McDowell United Cemetery, Western Bay North. In lieu of flowers, as an expression of sympathy, donations in his memory may be made to McDowell United Church, Western Bay. Visitation hours at Noel's Funeral Home are 10:30 a.m. to 12:00 noon, 2:00 to 5:00 p.m., 7:00 to 9:30 p.m. daily.
