Lorraine E. Smith 1945 - 2006 SAINT PHILIPPE, NB - Lorraine Edith Smith of Saint Philippe, NB passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, March 12, 2006 at the age of 60. Born in Saint John, NB on April 26, 1945, she was the daughter of the late George Bernard Hickey and Edith Arlene Hickey (Mitchell). Lorraine had a passion to help others and such a zest for life. She will be sadly missed by her husband, Garnet Smith; her two daughters, Diane (Leon) Gallant and Jacqueline Smith; and her four wonderful grandchildren, Ashley, Naketah, Markus and Jesse who she admired deeply. She was predeceased by her parents; a daughter, Elaine Smith; and her brother, Daryl Hickey. Lorraine is also survived by three sisters, Wanda (Richard) Letson, Mary (Joe) Mazerolle and Brenda (Peter) Ernst; and her two brothers, Paul (Ann) Hickey, Raymond (Ann) Hickey; and sister-in-law Susan Hickey, the wife of the late Daryl Hickey. She had several nieces and nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and many, many friends. Visitation will be held at Fair Haven Funeral Home on Wednesday, March 15th, 2006 from 7 to 9 pm and Thursday, March 16, 2006 from 2:00 pm until the time of the funeral service. The Funeral Service will be held from Fair Haven Funeral Home Chapel at 4 o'clock on Thursday, March 16, 2006. Following the service friends are invited to gather at the home of Garnet Smith. Interment in Ocean View Cemetery, 715 Latimore Lake Road, Saint John on Friday, March 17 at 2:00 pm. Memorial donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Heart & Stroke Foundation of NB.
