Gary Ivan Matthews 1945 -2006 GREATER LAKEBURN, NB - The death of Gary Ivan Matthews, 60 years, of Greater Lakeburn occurred at The Moncton Hospital on Thursday, August 3rd, 2006. Born in Moncton, October 9th, 1945, he was the son of Viola (Nicolle) Matthews and the late Richard Matthews. Gary had worked as a carpenter and mechanic for many years in the Moncton area. In addition to his mother, Viola of Greater Lakeburn, he is survived by his brothers, Bobby, Harold, Brian, Greg (Karen) and Mark all of the Moncton area; his sisters, Carol (Jack) Phillips and Judy (Ray) Portiss both of St Thomas, Ontario, Brenda (Louis) Gallant of Shediac, Elaine (Mike) Jessome of Edmundston, NB, Marsha Matthews (Tim) of Memramcook and Karen Matthews (Mike) of Moncton; as well as many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his father, Richard; his brothers, Jimmy and Jack; and his sisters, Shirley and Marilyn. By request there will not be any visiting hours prior to a Memorial Service which will be held on Tuesday, August 8th, 2006 at 3 pm in St George's Anglican Church, Church Street, Moncton, followed by interment in Elmwood Cemetery.
