J. Walter McNeish 1921 - 2007 It is with great sadness that the family of Walter McNeish, 86 announces his passing on March 3rd, 2007 at The Moncton Hospital. He passed away with his loving family at his side after a brief illness of two weeks. Walter was the born in Dalhousie, NB he was the son of the late John and Laura (Miller) McNeish. His life long career of 40 years service was with the CNR where he retired from the Transportation Department. He was a member of Central United Church, Moncton, having served as Chairman of the Board of Stewards. Walter was a veteran of the Second World War serving with the Royal Canadian Navy and was a member of The Royal Canadian Legion Branch #6. He was a member of The Acacia Lodge #49 F&AM; The Moncton Curlers Association; also The Manchester Lawn Bowling Riverivew, NB. He enjoyed his years of retirement with winters in Florida and involvement in his many activities. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, the former June Shirley Wagg of Moncton; daughter, Laura and Paul Whitmee of Riverivew; son, John and Heather McNeish of Riverview; grandchildren, Beth Whitmee of Calgary AB, Jonathan Whitmee of Whistler BC, Kevin and Christina McNeish of Riverview, Carrie and Chris Kennedy of Moncton; great grandson, Jack McNeish of Riverview; sister, Elizabeth (Late Leonard) Lutes of Moncton; brothers, Stewart and Marilyn MacNeish of Toronto, and Raymond (Late Myrtle) MacNeish of Orlando, FL; also by several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents he was predeceased by his sisters, Gladys Scott and Jean Daley; brother, David MacNeish. Resting at Tuttle Bros. Funeral Home 171 Lutz St. on Monday, March 5th, 2007 from 7:00pm to 9:00pm. The Royal Canadian Legion Br#6 will he holding a prayer service at the funeral home Monday evening at 6:30pm followed by a prayer service by The Acacia Lodge #49 F&AM at 7:00pm. The funeral service will be held at Central United Church on Tuesday, March 6th, 2007 at 2:00 pm with Rev. Dr. James McDonald officiating. Interment will be in Elmwood Cemetery in the spring. In Walter's memory, donations made to The Friends of The Moncton Hospital Foundation, Central United Church, or a memorial of the donors choice would be appreciated.
