Ethel Gardiner (Nee Brown) 1937 - 2007 GEORGETOWN, ONT/ SALISBURY, NB - The death of Ethel Gladys Gardiner, age 69, occurred June 5, 2007 at her home in Georgetown, Ontario following her battle with cancer. Born on June 10, 1937, she was a daughter of the late Evelyn (2004) and Clifford Brown (1981). She was also predeceased by her only brother, Charlie in 1989. She will be sadly missed by her husband, Peter; daughter, Cynthia; and son, Paul, all of Ontario; sisters, Ruth Holt (Frank), Oromocto, NB, Mim Hanley, Riverview, NB; and by sister-in-law, Valerie Brown, Summerside, PE; as well as many cousins, nieces and nephews. Ethel was a teacher for 39 years and a trustee of the Halton District School Board 1995-2006 and board chair 1997-2003. Her intense passion for education and an active champion for all students, especially the special needs children was recognized by many. She received many awards of excellence for her contribution to public education. Burial will be in PineHill Cemetery, Salisbury, NB at a later date.
