MABEL JEAN (LEFURGEY) VIENNEAU

VIENNEAU, MABEL JEAN (LEFURGEY) - Mrs. Mabel Jean (Lefurgey) Vienneau passed away peacefully at the Campbellton Regional Hospital on October 28, 2009 surrounded by her family. Mrs. Vienneau was born in Atholville, N.B. on October 2, 1921 to the late Sherman A. Lefurgey and the late Edna L. Boudreau. She spent her youth in Atholville, attended the local schools and graduated from Campbellton High School in 1940. Upon graduation, she worked for a time for T. Eaton Co. Ltd. in Campbellton before moving to Brandon, Manitoba where she married William Vienneau of Campbellton, serving there in the R.C.A.F. Towards the end of WW2, they were stationed in Scoudouc, N.B., eventually returning to Campbellton at war's end where they made their home to this day. While raising her family, Mrs. Vienneau returned to the workplace once again with T. Eaton Co. Ltd. and ultimately as administrative secretary to lawyer John Bujold, Francis Smith and H.R. Doane Co. retiring in the late 1980's. She also worked for several years alongside her husband in the Armed Forces Reserves. Mrs. Vienneau was highly active in her community especially in her beloved Christ Church Anglican in which she played an active role in all aspects of church life right up until the time of her death. She belonged to the Altar Guild, Ladies' Guild, Vestry and was on a several occasions a delegate to Synod in Fredericton. She will be remembered as a generous, giving person, always little gifts for everyone. She was forever a lady, loved being with people, getting dressed up and socializing with her good friends. But above all, she was a wonderful mother, passionate about her children and family and taught them to live life to the fullest. Mrs. Vienneau will be sadly missed by children Patricia (Alan) Campbellton, Karen (Mike) Sackville, and Bill (Bonnie) Halifax, NS; grand-children Marc Ouellette, Montreal; Andrea Ouellette, Halifax; Andrew Olscamp, Sackville; and William Olscamp, Ottawa; sisters Ruth Blaikie , Saint John, Margaret Lefurgey, Campbellton, brother Lorne Lefurgey, Campbellton and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by husband Bill Vienneau, parents Sherman and Edna Lefurgey, sisters Hilda MacDonald and Helen Taylor and brother Murray Lefurgey. Funeral arrangements were in the care of Maher's Funeral Home in Campbellton with funeral service for Mrs. Vienneau being held on Saturday, October 31 in Christ Church Anglican with Rev. Arnold Godsoe presiding. Pallbearers were Don Thompson, Gary Parker, Gale MacKinnon, David Young, Terry Delaney and Paul Brown.
