MARIA MARGUERITE DAIGLE

DAIGLE, MARIA MARGUERITE - Maria M. Daigle 70, passed away in QE II Health Sciences Centre, Halifax on Thursday, December 17, 2009 after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born in Minto, New Brunswick, on August 19, 1939, the daughter of the late Gerard Maranda and the late Marguarite (Hachey) Maranda. Maria was adopted daughter of loving parents and was raised in Richibucto Cape by the late Alban Maillet, and she is survived by Rosie Maillet of Dieppe, New Brunswick. Maria devoted her life to family and is survived by her loving husband, Vincent Daigle, Hammonds Plains, NS. She is also survived by daughter, Diane (Darrell) Marshall, Calgary; daughter, Denise (Rick) Gallupe, Porters Lake; son, Vince Daigle, Halifax; daughter, Teresa (Bruce) Flinn, Halifax; dearly loved grandchildren Cory, Brett, Kyle Gallupe, Porters Lake; Sara, Sean, Brandon Marshall, Calgary; and Grant Flinn (Pitou), Halifax. Maria is survived by sister Ginette (Roger) Saulnier, Dieppe, NB; loyal friend and cousin Florine (John) Burnett, Moncton, NB; and seven half brothers and sisters, Armand (Lucille) Maranda, Leon (Yvette) Maranda, Doris (Guy) Corrico, Jeanette Maranda, Dianne (Leo) Sullivan, Donald Maranda, John Paul (Ruth) Maranda. She is predeceased by sister, Clara LeBlanc; sister, Aline Bennett; brother, Yvon LeBlanc; brother, Frederick Maranda; half sisters, Mary Maranda and Corrina Shepard. Cremation has taken place under the direction of Atlantic Funeral Home, Lower Sackville, NS. No visitation by request. The Mass of Christian Burial will be offered in memory of Maria at 10:00 AM Tuesday morning, December 22, at St. John Vianney Roman Catholic Church on 4 Beaverbank Road, Lower Sackville, corner of Beaverbank Rd. and Sackville Drive. Reverend Johni Mathew will be officiating. This will be followed by interment at Oakridge Memory Gardens Cemetery and a reception to follow in the Church Hall. Flowers are gratefully declined. Memorial donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society. Maria's family are deeply grateful for the exceptional love and caring that have been extended to her in the course of her illness.
