82, Bras d'Or Juanita (Colvey) Power, 82, Colonel Street, Bras d'Or, passed away Sunday, Dec. 28, 2008, at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital. Born in Bras d'Or, she was the daughter of the late Hartland and Rita (Jessome) Colvey. She was a member of St. Joseph's parish, Bras d'Or. She is survived by her husband, James; her five children, Joseph, Guelph, Ont., James (Brenda), Bras d'Or, Rita (Brian) MacNeil, Florence, Mary Carew, Barrie, Ont., and Debbie Reid, Guelph, Ont.; 12 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Also surviving are her sister, Mary Walker, Halifax; and her brother, Thomas Colvey, North Sydney. She was predeceased by her grandson, Courtney Reid, Guelph, Ont. and brothers, Hubert, Stephen and Lewis Colvey. Visitation Tuesday, 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. in Francis Funeral Home, Sydney Mines. Mass of Christian Burial will take place Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. in St. Joseph's Church, Bras d'Or with Fr. Peter McLeod officiating. Burial in the parish cemetery. A reception will follow in the Bras d'Or Hall. Donations may be made to the Muscular Dystrophy Association or to a charity of choice.
