MEYER - Shirley Ann, aged 65 years, of Rush Lake SK, passed away on February 28, 2010, at her residence with her sister by her side. She was born on May 16, 1944, at the Swift Current Union Hospital. She is survived by her mother, Edna Meyer; her sister, Joyce Beisel (husband Ralph); three nephews: Stacey Beisel (daughter Nicole) of Rush Lake, Darren Beisel (wife Norlaine), daughter (Cara), son (Cody), of Manning, AB, and Cory Beisel of Rush Lake. She was predeceased by her Dad, Willard (August 22, 1992); her grandparents; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. Shirley attended elementary school in Rush Lake and high school in Herbert. She attended Sunday school at the R.L United Church. Throughout her life, she loved children and her greatest enjoyment was babysitting. The caring for her three nephews was always her first priority, and later their children. She also babysat many others. She enjoyed taking part in curling and also watching the games on TV. Softball, board games and a good game of cards with friends and family. She loved going to musical concerts and rodeo’s. She was an active member of the Rush lake Rec Board and also a member of the Waldeck Golden Age Club. After her Dad had passed away she took over the duties of yard care. She liked the house to be neat and clean. As soon as someone stepped in for a visit the coffee was on and there was something to eat. She liked things simple and it didn’t take much to please her. She was always willing to lend a helping hand. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends. The funeral service was held on Friday, March 5, 2010, at 3:00 p.m. at Parkside Memorial Funeral Chapel with Larry Jaster officiating. The Honorary pallbearers were: Stacey Beisel, Darren Beisel, Cory Beisel, Cody Beisel, Cara Beisel and Nicole Beisel. Memorial donations may be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation of Saskatchewan.
